Abundant Ground on Long Island

Abundant Ground on Long Island A common misconception is someone not living on the street, but drives a car and owns a home, doesn't suffer from hunger. Sad to say there more people driving home to an empty refrigerator than one can count. More families depend on credit cards to buy food than a paycheck.

The Abundant Ground Foundation wants to support the families living on Long Island who may have enough to keep a roof over their heads but not enough for food. It's heartbreaking hearing a neighbor ask for eggs and bread though a homeowner and gainfully employed. Families upon families are making tough choices like minimizing how much food they buy or using credits to purchase food. The Abundant Ground Foundation would like set up a bi-monthly distribution of fresh bread, milk, eggs, rice, meats, vegetables and juice in a dignified manner, to individuals and families whose income does not qualify them for government aid but nonetheless need the help. Should you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us at 516-623-0063 or email us at Info@AbundantGround.org.

Abundant Ground in NYCAbundant Ground in NYC

The New York State Department of Correctional Services is responsible for the confinement and habitation of 61,000 inmates held at 69 correctional facilities plus 902 beds at Willard Drug Treatment Campus (DOCS, 2008). The Abundant Ground in NYC is a program providing free holiday cards to  inmates in New York City. Parents, children and spouses hurt just as much as much inmates. "We still love them, support them and stand behind them even though we don't agree with what they did (Tough Love: Families, friends of inmates get support from Aldine Group, 2002). The Abundant Ground in NYC is committed to strengthening the support between inmates and their families by providing these free holiday cards. We want to foster the reconciliation and restoration of broken relationships due to their confinement. As one mother said "It's not only the intimate that does time" (Tough: Families, friends of intimate get support from Aldine Group, 2002). If you would like more information about this program email us at info@abundantground.org.

Hurricane Katrina

Abundant Ground in Louisiana

Hurricane Katrina set the standard for all future responses to natural disasters. Unfortunately for the  residents of Louisiana, they suffered an extraordinarily high price for our slow timing and inadequate provisions. There are parts of Louisiana  that still look as when the storm first hit, though it's been over four years. The Abundant Ground in Louisiana program provides small home furnishings to Louisiana residents who have restored their homes and are starting again. We would like to provide the needed necessities for each room of a house: kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom and bathroom. We feel the individuals who have suffered and sacrificed to get their homes back and are patiently enduring Louisiana's recovery, ought to have an "abundant" welcome home gift by having needed equipment for their home. Several charities and organizations have done a phenomenal job providing their time, labor and donations to the restoration of Louisiana homes and residents. Our organization would also like to contribute by providing items needed for the kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom and bathroom. Please see our Non-Monetary List for items we’re soliciting for this program. Thank you for time, contribution and support.
