Support
A
Teacher
Currently Haiti is going through a
recovery phase. But with that there are a lot of problems. There are lootings,
robberies, and poor follow up medical care. The means for survival have fallen
below normal human dignity.
Our mission is to keep people from
falling into despair, especially the children. The Abundant Ground campaign is
to Support A Teacher in
Haiti.
Back to School
Plan
By employing teachers,
not only are we keeping the children in a healthy, safe environment but the
teachers and administrators are helped and served as well.
Every Donation
Counts
Please consider making a contribution to Support
a Teacher in Haiti. Every fund raised secures our ability to provide
consistent aid, for every teacher and child. Your donations allow us to pursue a
long term solution toward their recovery with education. If you have any questions about Support A

The

Revolution
A sham election in Iran last June, led to a huge revolution, prompting the government
to shut down communications to and from the entire country. In the past this
would have been easy, but just as quickly as the regime could block servers, shut
down cell phone service, or seize cameras, people all over Iran and the world
were working to get them back up and spread the word (Al
Giordano/The Green Wave Breaks the Information
Blockade/6-15-2009).
People think of handheld devices like cell phones and
Blackberries, as frivolous or as a way to stay over-connected to business
contacts, family, and friends, but these pieces of technology are the
weapons of choice for the new revolutions of our world. When the journalists
were silenced, the people responded, and the word of oppression flowed freely
from the borders of Iran.
All over the country, people
risked their lives and safety to publish cell phone camera images, send text
messages, and post updates on Twitter to let the rest of us know about the
betrayal of their government and shed light on the injustice that was happening
in the country. Information and media that showed up in places like YouTube,
MySpace, and Twitter were painstakingly captured on handheld devices and sent
out to the world with a plea of support for their reforms. With the boon of
technology, world events will never quietly happen again.
